Once your Nest is complete, the data will be viewable and you can export the data for analysis. NK's Synthesis feature allows you to view the data through Qualitative Synthesis and Quantitative Synthesis depending on the end goal.
Qualitative Synthesis presents the results of your Tagging in an interactive visual. You can use it to drill down on the qualitative content of underlying studies, and it should be used in combination with the screening outputs on the PRISMA diagram and the meta-analytical results displayed in Quantitative Synthesis.
Insights are a method for nest builders to identify key conclusions or findings in a nest. They are composed of a title & text attached to a specific configuration of a Synthesis page. For example, you can draft an Insight comparing Drug X to Drug Y with respect to Outcome Z by describing the findings in the text of the Insight, and then configure the sunburst diagram to filter to Drug X, Drug Y, and Outcome Z. This will enable your reader to select the Insight in the listing, read your conclusion, and see all studies with relevant tags or data.
Quantitative Synthesis displays the results of a nest's Meta-Analytical Extraction (previously named Extraction). Use this page to drill down on the outcomes of your research by Intervention or by study (Summary page), to see the distribution of results across individual studies (Distribution page), or view inferential statistics and forest plots for comparisons within your nest (NMA page).
Nested Knowledge completes an automated Network Meta-analysis (NMA) on all dichotomous and continuous Data Elements with sufficient data, at any Intervention level. To see all calculation methods, see here. To navigate to NMA: In the top-middle of the page, click “NMA”. WARNING: The automatically-generated Network Meta-analysis uses generally accepted practices to calculate odds ratios and other outputs. However,...
To access Dashboard, head to Synthesis and click the “Dashboard” menu item. The appearance of Synthesis Dashboard will be exactly as configured in Dashboard Editor. Here you can expand each card (including resizability of columns within the table card), view associated descriptions, and download available cards.
This page describes how to view and interpret the Manuscript output in Synthesis. To learn how to use the Manuscript Editor in AutoLit, click here.
Nested Knowledge automatically generates your Domain Distribution and Traffic Light diagrams if you complete Critical Appraisal through our AutoLit Critical Appraisal module.
Nested Knowledge creates a convenient PRISMA flowchart for publication use. It will summarize the number of articles that were screened and fulfilled the search criteria.
When exploring the outputs in Synthesis, it can be helpful to apply filters to view the data behind specific sets of studies. Filters can be applied via Settings in the top right and are applicable to Qualitative Synthesis, Quantitative Synthesis, Critical Appraisal, and PRISMA. Filters are currently unavailable for Dashboard and Manuscript. Applying Synthesis Filters...
